Luke Wright reckons Sussex Sharks have “a fantastic chance” of claiming Twenty20 glory this summer, helped by their all-star attack.

The fast-scoring batsman wants them to win the competition for the first time since 2009.

Now the club have joined the ‘blast from the past’ theme by cutting ticket prices for this year’s Vitality T20 Blast campaign.

Sussex will charge 2009 prices for the first month of advanced sales.

They hope that taps into excitement caused by the addition of spinner Rashid Khan to an attack which already boasted rising global star Jofra Archer as well as England duo Chris Jordan and Tymal Mills.

Wright, who was a member of the cup-winning side, said: “I’ve played in four finals days with Sussex and they’ve all been incredible experiences, but nothing compares to how it felt winning the tournament back 2009.

“Our line-up this year makes me think we’ve got a fantastic chance of lifting the trophy again.

“The support we received back in 2009 both on finals day and at Hove during our run played a big part in our success that year.

“It would be amazing to recreate that atmosphere this year and a full house on a Friday night for the Surrey match should start things off at home very nicely.”

Tickets for all seven home group matches go on sale at 10am next Thursday and during March will be priced at the 2009 figure of £18 for adults.

Sussex’s opener at The 1st Central County Ground on July 13 is a Friday night showdown with arch rivals Surrey.

They also host Hampshire (July 29), Gloucestershire (August 1), Somerset (August 5), Kent (August 10), Glamorgan (August 14) and Middlesex (August 17), all at Hove.

Tickets can be bought via sussexcricket.co.uk or by phone on 0844 264 0202.

Sussex are also offering a T20 Blast Pass, which provides adult entry to home group games for the equivalent of £14.14 per match.
