Sussex are heading towards a 6,000 sell-out for the Aussies’ eagerly-awaited visit to Hove.

About 500 tickets remained this afternoon for the tourists’ first one-dayer on these shores.

Seats are available in all areas, including the pavilion, although groups should aim for the Jointing Tech Sharks Stand.

Temporary seating will be brought in for prestigious 50-overs contest on Thursday, June 7 (2pm).

Sussex expected interest to be high as their head coach Jason Gillespie takes on his national team.

But there is now likely to be frenzied attention around the 1st Central County Ground as the Aussies continue their rebuilding process under new coach Justin Langer.

There is already massive media interest in the fixture which promises to put the cricketing spotlight firmly on Hove, if only for the day.

The Aussies start their ODI series against England six days later at the Oval.

Seats for the Hove date are priced £35 for adults with concessions available. General admission costs £30.

They can be bought at the ground or online via sussexcricket.co.uk/tickets.
