Trott too hot for Sussex

Jonathan Trott scored his fourth hundred against Sussex to put Warwickshire in control after two days of the LV County Championship match at Edgbaston.

Sussex have not won in Birmingham since 1982 and that sequence looks like being extended after Trott's 166 helped Warwickshire make 349-9.

He was finally out just before the close, under-edging a pull off Luke Wright having faced 247 balls and hit 20 fours.

Warwickshire had earlier been 16-3 after two early wickets for Corey Collymore but Sussex found it hard work after that on a pitch which became easier to bat on as it dried out.

No one else scored a half-century but Trott figured in good stands with Jim Troughton, Tim Ambrose, Rikki Clarke and Ant Botha.

Yasir Arafat took 3-76 and Wright 3-82.
