All-rounder Luke Wright has committed himself to Sussex by signing a new three-year contract which will keep him at Hove until 2012.
The 24-year-old enjoyed his best season with Sussex in 2009 when he made three Championship hundreds and took two five-wicket hauls as well as playing a key role in Sussex's one-day double success.
Already a regular in England's one-day side, he was called up to the Test squad for the first time for the forthcoming series in South Africa.
He said: "The contract extension is exciting for me and I want to be a big part of a bright future for the club. "I love playing for Sussex and the county have been great in helping me achieve my goal of playing for England. I look forward to winning more trophies with this remarkable club in years to come."
In the week that Surrey made an official approach to sign another of the county's all-rounders in Rory Hamilton-Brown it is welcome news for coach Mark Robinson.
He said: "Luke is one of the most exciting young players in the country and we're delighted that he has committed to the club for the immediate future."
