Chief executive Dave Brooks has just celebrated a year in the top job at Hove during which time Sussex won two trophies and finally began the long-awaited redevelopment of the County Ground.
But what have been the biggest challenges of his first 12 months and how does he see the future of the oldest county club?
In an exclusive interview in The Argus today Brooks talks about his frustrations with cricket, how the club's finances are, the redevelopment work, staging music concerts at the County Ground and his own future.
He said: “When I took the role I told (chairman) Jim May that I would do three years but all the time I keep enjoying it I will carry on.
“I’m fortunate that we had an extremely successful first year on the pitch and I’m very lucky that we have such a good team at Hove behind the scenes. Jim, Mark Robinson and I agree on most things and when we don’t we have some thoughtful debate.”
