Sussex have held informal discussions with representatives of IPL clubs about becoming franchise partners with the county.
It comes in the week that Shane Warne’s Rajhastan Royals announced they had formalised a link with four clubs including Hampshire as part of a global franchise called Royals 2020.
Chief executive Dave Brooks said: “Initial contact was made in India while we were there for the Champions League and we are continuing discussions. At this stage we have not had any formal contact with any IPL franchise but we have had contact with intermediaries claiming to represent them.”
