Panesar extends Sussex deal

Monty Panesar Monty Panesar

Monty Panesar has signed a contract extension to keep him at Sussex until the end of the 2015 season.

The England spinner has extended his current deal by three years.

Panesar, 29, took 69 Championship wickets last season, playing in all 16 matches.

Great stuff, glad Monty is here for the long haul. We just need a couple more players to really be successful after our good finish.

Yeah, Given that we had people like Rayner I wasn't 100% in favour of him joining us initially, but I'll admit he's been a VERY good signing.

A very astute signing initially and a job well done getting Monty's contract extended for the best years of his career.
We have some great youngsters being introduced to the side and 2012 provides a great opportunity for them to shine.
A good bowler/ number 8 batsman like Rana at his best would make Sussex a team capable of challenging for the Championship once again.
