Joe Gatting has signed a one-year extension to his contract which will keep him at Sussex until at least the end of the 2013 season.
Gatting, 24, has been with Sussex since the age of 15 and made his first-class debut against Cambridge UCCE in April 2009, following three seasons as a professional footballer with Albion.
His maiden County Championship century came in the penultimate match of the 2011 season as Sussex secured their First Division status with victory over Worcestershire at New Road.
