Sussex recorded a comfortable 34-run win over the Netherlands in their first match of the Caribbean T20 in Antigua last night.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, Sussex made 125 for nine from their 20 overs, with Ben Brown top scoring with 42 from 42 balls.
Opener Chris Nash made 20 from 25 balls and only two other batsmen made it into double figures, but the Netherlands never looked like chasing down their target.
The first seven wickets fell for just 39 runs - with captain Michael Yardy taking two for 14 from his four overs - and captain Peter Borren's best efforts proved in vain.
Borren made 45 from 40 balls, including three fours and two sixes, but was eventually last man out as his side were dismissed for 91 in the 19th over.
Sussex players Matt Prior and Monty Panesar were both in the England team taking on a Pakistan Cricket Board XI in Dubai today. Prior has recovered from a finger injury that kept him out of the first warm-up game.
