Matt Prior will not keep wicket for the rest of Sussex's Championship match against Somerset after suffering a hairline fracture of his finger.

The injury occured on the first day of the match at Taunton when Prior was hit on the end of his right hand by a ball from Luke Wright.

An x-ray in hospital today revealed a hairline fracture to the third finger of his right hand.

Andrew Hodd drove down from Hove today and will keep wicket for the remainder of the game but coach Mark Robinson expects Prior to be able to bat.

His injury will be re-assessed at the end of the game but Robinson expects Prior to play a full part in next Tuesday's match against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge.
