Whitehawk boss Steven King believes his latest signing will excite supporters.

The Hawks have snapped up experienced left-back Craig Braham-Barrett who goes straight into the squad for today’s National League south match at home to Concord Rangers.

The 27-year-old has joined initially on loan from Ebbsfleet United until January when the move will become permanent.

Braham-Barrett played under King at Macclesfield. He has also played in the Football League for Cheltenham Town.

King said: “I took him to Macclesfield and he played every game for me, including that FA Cup run we had.

“When I left he went to Cheltenham and played there for two seasons.

“I tried to sign him in the summer but he went to Ebbsfleet instead. However, it hasn’t worked out for him and he has recently been on loan at Woking.”

Hawks have struggled at left-back after losing skipper Lee Hills for the season with a knee injury.

Belgian defender Bryan van den Bogaert has played some games there, as well as at centre-back, but is currently sidelined by a hamstring injury.

King said: “Craig has electric pace. It will be great to have him bombing down one side and Nick Arnold down the other. We have missed that since Lee got injured.”

Van den Bogaert, who signed from Crawley Town, is hoping to return in time for Whitehawk’s FA Cup second round tie away to Dagenham and Redbridge on Sunday December 6 (2pm).

Tickets for a supporters coach to that game can be purchased at today’s match with Concord Rangers.
