Whitehawk have received a good luck message from an unlikely source.
Portuguese footballing legend Nuno Gomes has told Steven King’s men to ‘Go for it’ ahead of their FA Cup second round tie at Dagenham and Redbridge tomorrow.
Gomes won 79 caps for Portugal, playing in two World Cup finals and three European Championships.
He spent most of his career with Benfica, where he netted 166 goals in 398 appearances, before finishing up at Blackburn.
Now retired, Nuno has a connection with Whitehawk via one of the club’s owners.
In a recorded message, he said: “Hello, my name is Nuno Gomes. I would like to send the best of luck for the team to the next round of the FA Cup. Come on boys, go for it, Whitehawk.”
