Whitehawk are through to the first round proper of the FA Cup for the first time in their history.

But Bognor and Eastbourne Borough are reflecting on 2-1 defeats in games they felt they could have won.

Danny Mills and Sam Deering scored the second-half goals which sent Hawks to a 2-0 win at home to Poole Town, who had defender Will Spetch sent-off in the first half.

The impressive Deering was involved in Mills’ opener before adding a very late second.

Borough had plenty of chances at home to Dover but were beaten by an added time goal.

Gavin McCallum scored from long range in the second half to cancel out Stefan Payne’s very early opener.

But Sean Raggett headed home for Dover with a replay looming.

Jason Prior had two penalties saved as Bognor went down 2-1 at Wealdstone.

He was denied in either half by Jonathan North, at 0-0 and again when his side were 2-0 down.

Bradley Hudson-Odoi and Tom Hamblin scored in a seven-minute period early in the second half for Wealdstone.

Chad Field got the Rocks’ late reply.
