Adam Watts is ready to return to action with Eastbourne Borough.

The one-time Fulham defender could be in the squad for today’s trip to Hemel Hempstead in Vanarama Conference south.

Tuesday’s Sussex Senior Cup tie at home to Southern Combination League side Worthing United will certainly provide Watts with some game time. The 27-year-old has missed the last eight games with a hamstring injury.

His return will boost a squad which was last week supplemented by the return on a non-contract basis of versatile defender Marvin Hamilton.

Manager Tommy Widdrington is expecting a tough game today – and is happy to be away.

He said: “If you look at the next few games they are very difficult. Hemel are coming off the back of a excellent win at Gosport.

“We have not been on the road for seven weekends so that will be nice for fans. Hopefully we can carry on from where we left off as we have a good record away from home.”

Widdrington has confirmed young midfielder Ryan Worrall’s loan move to Peacehaven is purely to give him game time.

He is also pleased to have Hamilton back. He said: “I had a worry over one of my defenders last week so I had to cover myself by bringing Marvin in.

“His versatility is a big plus for us so I am sure he will play a role for us.”
