Kiss of death quote:- Albion are seeing this through comfortably.

Flippin' heck, just got in! Wow, 2-0 can't be bad. Roll on Saturday, cant wait. The usual end-of season Cliff-hangar from BHA............

Sheil, says...

Oh that's humourous as you say,how nice to be able to laugh whilst we are playing so much doom & gloom of late.I'll have another sip!!

sul.j, says...

There you are Brian . What were you fretting about. Sooty Sweep and Owu SU

russellsnr, says...

Hey its 23 30 here in Greece and I aint movin

farside, says...

How good would it be if Hart were to score after all the flack he and the club have taken. 2nd goal would certainly be very welcome

95:00: Thanks for following the updates. join me on Saturday if you can.

95:00: Thanks for following the updates. join me on Saturday if you can.

whistle icon 94:00: Final whistle Would you believe I had technical problems with that long awaited win less than 30 seconds away. Anyway, I'm now back online, the final whistle has gone, they've won and virtually everyone has gone home now!

Goal icon 91:00: Goal! Three minutes to be added and we have drama as Brandy tumbles under a Virgo tackle and a penalty is given. Guinan drives it down the middle and Kuipers saves with his legs...but the ball eventually falls to TAYLOR outside the box and he scores with a very crisp drive. McLeod comes on for Owusu before the restart.

sul.j, says...

Thers more chance of sooty ahving a good spell than hereford. Izzy wizzy lets get busy.

85:00: Most of the home fans near us are going now, resigned to relegation. They are not exactly an angry mob, though. One turned around to us as he left and, very politely, said: "Safe journey home boys." Albion are seeing this through comfortably.

farside, says...

Hanging on here in chilly Amsterdam. If it stays like this just might pop out to a local cafe later on to celebrate :)

yellow card 83:00: Yellow card Whing goes in the book for pulling back Brandy.

Sheil, says...

Hi Brian, Come on you Seagulls with all of those efforts surely we must get another soon-this calls for a very stiff brandy!

sul.j, says...

Not tonight Brian . Your going home cheerful and im not going to kick next doors dog.

80:00: Good humour from both ends. Albion fans are singing "What's it like to lose to us?" and the Hereford chorus is "We are embarrassing!"

79:00: Done comes on for Pugh and Johnson replaces Smith. Hart nearly did score with a header from Fraser's super cross which Gulacsi saved very well. As the attack continued, Elphick unleashed a scissors volley just over the bar.

sul.j, says...

Why must they have a good spell.? We're ace you know !!!!

Goal icon 75:00: Goal! There it is! Hart flicks the ball through and, ever so coolly, OWUSU tucks a low shot inside the post for the crucial second.

sul.j, says...

Brian . I bet you really need to bring us some good news for a change . Go on Brian you can do it !!!!!

substitution 74:00: Substitution El-Abd on for Birchall and Albion switch to a more linear 4-4-2 with Fraser now on the right and El-Abd joining Dicker more central.

substitution 72:00: Substitution Davies goes off and Hart comes on. I suspect that, rather than Davies's display tonight, the switch reflects the fact he had been booked and, through sheer enthusiasm, was still putting himself about. Anyway, Hart got a big cheer.

68:00: For those of you who think the press seats are over the halfway line, by the way, we're actually 30 yards from the corner flag here. Gave me a great view of the goal, though, and of any late pressure by Hereford so we're at the right end.

yellow card 66:00: Yellow card Albion fans are singing "there's only one Craig Davies" although he has just blotted his copybook with a booking for dissent after being adjudged offside. He deserves a goal tonight and it would be timely, too, to head off what could be a nervous finale.

62:00: So close to 2-0 but a superb 30-yard strike by Davies comes off the bar. Within seconds Hereford created a clear chance for Brandy but he shot wastefully wide. Hereford are just starting to come into it. Before Davies's near miss Smith lashed a half chance wide, then on the hour Guinan got into a really good position in front of goal and Virgo lunged in to make a vital block.

sul.j, says...

Keep it up the Albion .

52:00: Because, SulJ, that is the way things have generally gone this season. Plus most home teams manage a good spell at some time. Albion still having most of the possession, though, and Elphick headed just over from a set-piece.

49:00: Chatting to my colleague Andy Naylor at the break he shared my concern that Albion have not scored a second goal. Hereford must have a decent spell at some stage. This looks a highly significant second half in the context of the whole season. Tonight's gate is 2,033, of whom 279 are in the away sections (seats and a covered terrace).

substitution 47:00: Substitution One change at the break as O'Leary replaces Myrie-Williams. We're under way again and Cox shoots over after an Owusu lay-off.

whistle icon 45:00: Half time Albion lead 1-0 at the end of a very confident first-half display and my only reservation is that it should really be more.

43:00: Two more near misses to report. Dicker arrived late at the far post and headed a corner wide when he was well placed. Then Cox produced a superb angled pass to release Davies to the right of goal and his volley from a tricky angle was saved by the keeper's foot. But now Hereford are starting to apply some pressure.

37:00: Cox wins and takes a corner which leads to Elphick and Owusu having efforts blocked right in front of goal in a hectic bit of action. Davies is producing some really good build-up play and Owusu winning a fair bit in the air. Albion fans behind Gulacsi's goal are enjoying this.

27:00: Now Davies has an on-target volley blocked and the ball loops to Fraser, whose header is straight at Gulacsi. I repeat, Albion could do with a second here to ease everyone's nerves and reflect their superiority. I have to say, though, they are playing with a lot of confidence and I include Davies in that, which is good to see.

Voice of the silent Majority, says...

With three points tonight that will mean there are five teams trying to avoid joining Hereford and Cheltenham who are realistically regulated now. I was wishing for a good Christmas to give us a boost but Easter will do just as well

Beethoven, says...

Yess! - We can win this one ..They are even worse than we are. #Come on Albion, a win tonight , a good Easter and , who knows?

sul.j, says...

I remember that end the albion were attacking . I was a bit drunk and dancing with a bear!!!! Up the Albion

18:00: Albion, and Fraser, still looking busy. The midfielder just went on another run and was tripped just outside the box. Cox took the centrally placed free-kick and went for the curler but Gulacsi got down to his left to hold the shot.

ChrisFromHassocks, says...

Get in there! How long before the donkey misses a one on one though

13:00: Albion need to push on here. Hereford look poor and very low on confidence.

farside, says...

still stuck in Amsterdam and sneaking updates on my daughter's computer while she is supposed to be working. A win for us tonight and then who knows? We can still turn it round. Keep the faith

Goal icon 9:00: Goal! Just the start Albion wanted - and what a goal it was! Owusu headed down a long ball by Whing into the box and FRASER connected with a superb overhead bicycle kick under pressure.

Voice of the silent Majority, says...

Brighton should win this with ease setting up Saturday'sgame for a bumper crowd

8:00: All Albion so far with no real menace, although Cox has just dipped a long range volley a yard over the bar. Dicker and Owusu have made bright starts. Evening to my first two posters on Your Say. It would be great to see a big crowd on Saturday - let's hope the majority of them aren't silent!

sul.j, says...

Evening Brian . Yes i still feel the escape is possible . I reckon a draw is almost curtains for Hereford and almost us too . But i wont be as we will win the next two. Up the Albion

2:00: Albion attacking the end where Reinelt (and indeed Mayo!) scored in 1997 in this first half. The home fans' first song was "you're going down with the Hereford". Quite a bright start by Albion, although Brandy has also won a corner at the other end.

0:00: It really is a subdued atmosphere as the sides emerge to no more than a polite ripple of applause. I'm sort of sitting among the home fans in the back of the main stand and there seems to be a resigned feel up here. Quite an old clientele up here - very different to the raucous scenes at MK Dons three days ago when we had young kids wandering around in the press area and their dads looking at our laptops to get the Spurs and Arsenal scores! Here we go...

0:00: So here we are again - Edgar Street for a relegation six-pointer. Not exactly the atmosphere of 1997, and not quite the stakes either, but I think we can safely say the losers are going down. And a draw won't help either side much. This is Brian Owen bringing you updates from the first Hereford v Albion league game here since you know when. It's a big game if you still believe the escape is on - which I do, by the way. Having said that, there is a very depressed feel about the place as kick-off looms and it looks like being a meagre away following. You can always follow it here though, even if you're watching the Champions League on TV. Keep the laptop handy and stick with us.
