Charlie Ademeno scored his sixth goal in five games to give Crawley a deserved half-time lead in today's Blue Square premier game at the Broadfield Stadium.
The 21-year-old striker, who was again being monitored by a clutch of League scouts, struck after 12 minutes following a horrible mix-up between Harriers' defender Gavin Caines and goalkeeper Dean Coleman.
Coleman failed to gather Caines' header and Ademeno nipped in and rounded the keeper to side-foot into an empty net.
Reds created some decent opportunities with Ademeno's pace a constant threat.
Coleman kept out his shot and an earlier effort from Ben Smith while Ademeno completely mis-kicked 10 yards out after good work by Mikey Malcolm.
It wasn't all one-way traffic with Simon Rayner parrying an effort from Damian Spencer but Reds defended well in the first period.
