Ryman south leaders Burgess Hill have signed experienced former Fulham, Millwall and Crystal Palace defender Matt Lawrence.
The ex-Whitehawk skipper will have limited availability due to media commitments but Hillians boss Ian Chapman is delighted to capture him.
Chapman said: “He’s a fantastic signing. He will give me dates when he is available and I will see when we might be short and need him. Hopefully we can both help each other out.
“If we can get 15 to 20 games out of him that would be great for the club.”
Lawrence is not available tomorrow when Hillians entertain East Grinstead while Chris Breach remains out with a head wound.
Hillians are hoping for a big gate as they have made the game free entry for all to mark Non-League Day.
Chairman Kevin Newell said: “We are enjoying exciting times at the club at the moment. We hope by getting involved in Non-League Day we can advertise the work that is being done both on and off the pitch. We want ‘new faces’ at this game and we want them to come back for more.”
