Interest in Burgess Hill striker Greg Luer is hotting up admits boss Ian Chapman.

Luer, who is on contract at Leylands Park, turned out for Oxford United development squad on Monday night as a trialist and scored the winner in a 2-1 victory over Wolves under-21s.

The Hillians livewire spent time on trial with Millwall in the summer and Chapman expects Luer to be on duty tomorrow against visitors Folkestone Invicta unless there is a firm bid made by one of a number of interested clubs.

Chapman revealed: “We’re in limbo a little bit as four or five clubs are watching him and we’re constantly getting telephone calls.

“He scored the winner and it was against the former Brighton keeper Tomasz Kuszczak as well. He did really well.

“He’s done really well this season and he has become more consistent. Consistency is the key when clubs are looking at players.”

Chapman expects a tough game tomorrow as he welcomes back Joe Keehan from injury and Toby Pointing from suspension.

Sam Fisk is likely to be ruled out for a couple of weeks with a knee injury.

Chapman said: “It is a difficult game. Neil (Cugley) is a good manager and very experienced.

“They have beaten us twice and drawn with us twice in the four games we have played so we do owe them one.”
