Paul Cooper is relishing the opportunity to turn around Crawley Down Gatwick’s fortunes.
Former Billingshurst manager Cooper has this morning replaced Tim Penlington, who left by mutual consent with the Anvils second from bottom in County League division one.
Cooper will be assisted by Steve Barrow. He said: “It was an opportunity we couldn’t turn down. It will certainly be a project from the off with Crawley Down currently sitting 19th out of 20 teams but as ever the challenge is one we'll thrive on.
“The short term objective is to develop our style of play out on the training ground and start picking up points as soon as possible.”
It is the second managerial change at the bottom of County League division one in a week after Ian Stevens took over at Hailsham Town on Monday after Andy Goodchild was axed.
