Eastbourne Borough have agreed a deal to sign midfielder Kane Haysman on loan from Sutton United.

Attacking midfielder Haysman, 19, began his career at Gillingham and had loan spell at Sutton last season before making the switch permanent at the start of the current campaign.

Borough boss Tommy Widdrington welcomes back defender Kiran Khinda-John from suspension at home to Lowestoft in the Trophy as well as fit-again midfielder Dean Sinclair.

Striker James Walker, who has yet to score since rejoining Borough at the start of the season, is also available for selection after illness.

Adam Watts remains sidelined with a broken toe and Simon Johnson may well miss out this weekend as he continues to be troubled by a hip flexor injury.

Widdrington admits it is a bit of a step into the unknown against Conference north outfit Lowestoft Town who were promoted from Ryman premier last season.

He said: “They are a bit of an unknown quantity for us and we are probably the same for them. But we are at home and we are expected to take the game to them.

“We expect them to be a tough, well-organised side. They have had tremendous success as a club over the last couple of seasons.

“They were a bit unfortunate to be put in the north division when they had signed players for the south division. I wouldn’t read anything into their league position. We want to go through and put our name in the hat for the next round.”

Young striker Dean Bown made his first appearance for Met Police in midweek after joining Borough academy boss Jay Lovett at the club on a dual-registration basis.

Lovett, who was acting as player/assistant to Widdrington, has handed over those duties for now to Matt Bubb, his academy No.2.
