Richard Pacquette grabbed a late equaliser for Eastbourne Borough on a day when Burgess Hill and Horsham recorded important wins.

Pacquette headed home in the 90th minute as Borough drew 1-1 at home to Wealdstone.

It was no more than Borough deserved after a positive response to Tuesday’s Sussex Senior Cup quarter-final defeat to Lewes.

They had trailed from the 11th minute to Matt Ball’s opener.

Whitehawk remain in the play-off places despite a 3-0 defeat away to Concord Rangers.

Manager Steven King had no qualms with the result. He said: “We got what we deserved.”

Steve Cawley scored twice and Sam Collins got the other.

In Ryman south, Burgess Hill went three points clear at the top with games in hand after Dan Perry’s 44th-minute strike secured a 1-0 win at home to Sittingbourne.

Bottom side Horsham made it back-to-back wins with a 2-0 success at Walton Casuals courtesy of second-half goals from Trevor McCreadie and Tony Nwachukwu (penalty).

Worthing remain in the play-off positions despite a 1-0 defeat at Herne Bay where a Harvey Sparks own goal on 82 minutes decided the contest.

Ben Godfrey scored a 90th-minute equaliser as Three Bridges drew 3-3 at Ramsgate. Allan Tait and Nathan Crabb grabbed their other goals. John Lansdale missed a penalty at 3-2 and was later sent off.

In Ryman premier, Lewes went down 2-0 away to Wingate and Finchley.

Pagham remain top of County League division one after Luca Coleman-Carr’s stoppage time goal secured a 2-1 win at home to Shoreham.

Second-placed Dorking Wanderers beat Hassocks 3-0 with goals from Charlie Pitcher, Luke Pidgeon and Tom Tolfrey.
