Whitehawk boss Steven King has a tough decision to make ahead of Tuesday’s Sussex Senior Cup semi-final.

Top scorer Jake Robinson is currently sidelined by a hamstring injury which forced him to miss last Saturday’s 2-1 win at home to St Albans which moved Hawks up to third in Vanarama Conference south.

Robinson will certainly miss today’s trip to Maidenhead but King must decide whether to risk him against Burgess Hill on Tuesday and save him until the next league game away to leaders Boreham Wood, which is not until March 14.

King said: “We could think about Jake for Tuesday because after that we don’t play for another two weeks.

“It is whether we risk him on Tuesday, he breaks down and we lose him for a month or we forget about Tuesday and give him another two weeks to get right.”

Sam Deering returns from a chest infection and Silvestre Guyonnet is also back in contention after missing three games with an ankle injury.

The Maidenhead match marks the last game of Christian Nanetti’s loan from Dover and King has confirmed the deal will not be extended.

But the Hawks boss is looking to add to his squad and was due to run the rule over a potential signing in training last night.

Hawks could only name three substitutes for last Saturday’s game.

King said: “We are still short on numbers so I would still like to add to the squad.”
