Leaders Burgess Hill have signed former Albion midfielder Tommy Fraser to strengthen their squad.

Fraser, 27, who has been with Peacehaven and Lewes this season, brings a wealth of experience but will not feature tomday when the Hillians got to Herne Bay bidding to stretch their amazing 35-game unbeaten league run.

Hillians boss Ian Chapman said: “He’s a terrific footballer and a great addition to our squad.

“He won’t be involved this week but he will help us out when we need him.”

Chapman is also talking to a defender and a forward to add further depth with Neil Watts and Dan Perry still battling back to fitness from injuries.

Defender Toby Pointing was due an hour with the under-21s last night but Chapman fears the hectic schedule is taking its toll after they had to dig in to grab a late 1-1 draw with Redhill on Tuesday on a heavy pitch.

He said: “We have played a lot of games and the pitch was awful the other night. We looked a bit tired and we need to freshen things up.”

Striker Ben Godfrey has been added to Three Bridges’ injury list.

Godfrey picked up a knee injury after scoring in last Saturday’s 3-1 defeat at Whyteleafe and will be out for a couple of weeks.

He joins Lee Carney, Nathan Crabb and Martin Dynan on the sidelines.

Jamie Crellin and Matt Whitehead are suspended for the visit of Walton and Hersham but Abu Touray and Callum Donaghey are back in the squad after trips abroad.
