Whitehawk will host Lincoln City in the first round of the FA Cup.

But the date of the eagerly-awaited tie has yet to be confirmed.

The Imps scored a pair of late goals to beat ten-man Tranmere Rovers 2-0 in their fourth qualifying round replay last night.

They will visit Hawks on the weekend of November 7 and 8.

Club officials will meet with police and council representatives tomorrow to discuss final arrangements.

Hawks are expected to seek a move to Sunday afternoon to avoid a clash with Albion’s home match against MK Dons in the Championship.

Sussex football police liaison officer Darren Balkham, who has a wealth of experience both abroad and working at Albion games, is involved in discussions.

Liam Hearn scored on 80 minutes and Conner Robinson added the second six minutes later for the Imps against a Tranmere side whose goalkeeper Scott Davies was sent off in the first half.

Lincoln’s squad includes former Albion and Crawley midfielder Matt Sparrow, pictured, who went on as sub last night. They are currently seventh in Vanarama National League, one division above Hawks.

Meanwhile Hawks were beaten 3-1 at Basingstoke in the league last night, despite creating a host of chances. Sam Deering scored their 52nd-minute equaliser but they conceded two very late goals. Boss Steven King said: “Their goalkeeper played like Superman.”
