Borough boost survival hopes

Eastbourne Borough boosted their hopes of survival in Blue Square Bet south with a 2-0 win at home to relegation rivals Hampton and Richmond.

They made the breakthrough on 27 minutes when Alex Lacey met Matt Crabb's corner from the right with a firm header into the net.

But they were grateful to on-loan Albion goalkeeper Mitch Walker who twice saved from Dave Tarpey in the closing stages of the first half.

Hampton and Richmond were chasing the game after the break and their task became harder when defender Dean Inman was sent off for two yellow cards in the space of three minutes midway through the half.

Victory was secured with ten minutes remaining when Stuart Anderson played a delightful ball in for substitute Charles Ademeno who fired low into the bottom corner.

In Ryman premier, Ian Draycott scored the only goal as Lewes won 1-0 away to play-off rivals Cray Wanderers while Hastings boosted their survival hopes with a 3-1 win at home to Harrow Borough.
