Baker off as Borough are outclassed

Eastbourne Borough conceded their 100th league goal this season as they went down 3-0 at Luton Town.

The Hatters created a host of chances and would have won far more comfortably had they been more clinical in front of goal.

Rikki Banks also made a string of fine saves but was to blame for the opening goal in the 18th minute as he waited for a long ball to roll inside his area only for Robbie Willmott to sneak in and score.

Lloyd Owusu wasted a great chance to double the lead soon after while Banks denied Willmott and Jason Walker as Borough were relieved to get in just 1-0 down at the break.

Richard Pacquette did get the ball in the net when he headed home a Matt Crabb free kick but was flagged offside.

Banks made further fine saves from Zdenek Kroca, Gnapka and Owusu while Gnapka twice headed against the post.

Gnapka finally got the goal his display deserved when he headed home a cross from Willmott at the far post. That was the 100th goal Borough had conceded and the 101st soon followed when Willmott made it 3-0 with a powerful shot from 20 yards.

Borough's day got worse when Darren Baker was sent off for a second bookable offence with eight minutes to go
