Eastbourne Borough head coach Nick Greenwood has hinted their could be further new arrivals at Priory Lane in the next few weeks as the club gears up for life back in Blue Square Bet south.

Borough announced four new signings yesterday with striker Carl Rook, defender Sonny Cobbs, goalkeeper Clark Masters and winger Gary Charman all putting pen to paper.

They follow striker Ian Pulman and defender Ollie Rowe in making the move to Priory Lane while three further members of last season’s squad – defender Gary Elphick, goalkeeper Rikki Banks and winger Matt Crabb – all committed their futures to the club yesterday.

Midfielders Simon Johnson and Eddie Hutchinson already had deals running until next summer while Ethan Strevett, Ross Treleaven, Steven Brinkhurst and Darren Baker are also staying.

Borough would like a further five players confirmed by the time pre-season training begins in 12 days’ time and are still waiting to discover whether six members of last season’s squad – Jamie Taylor, Richard Pacquette, Mickey Demetriou, Ben Austin, Matt Langston and Matt Smart – will accept the terms they have been offered.

Greenwood said: “We are still talking to players and there is a possibility that there will be more signings in the next week or two. We have got to have a Plan B if the existing players we have made offers to go elsewhere."
