Spofforth misses out on a medal

Gemma Spofforth missed out on an Olympic medal once again tonight.

Spofforth, from Slindon, made a late push in the final of the 100m backstroke but had to settle for fifth place.

It was one place worse than the world record holder managed in Beijing four years ago while she was also fourth in the 4x100m medley relay.
