Sussex water polo ace Lisa Gibson was shut out by the powerful Australians as GB crashed to a 16-3 defeat in their second group game tonight.
Chichester-born Gibson had little chance to shine against the bronze medalists in Beijing four years ago.
GB and Gibson, beaten 7-6 by Russia in their Olympic debuts, will be hoping for better in their next outing in the pool against Italy on Friday.
