Four Eastbourne riders scored in double figures as they enjoyed another big win tonight.

But their 57-32 success over Buxton at Arlington was partly blighted by a nasty injury to Jade Mudgway.

The Buxton heat-leader suffered a neck injury after falling in front of Charley Powell on bend two.

The Eagles rider could not avoid Mudgway, who needed lengthy attention on the track.

Mudgway was reported to have full movement but was thought to have fractured a bone in his neck.

The meeting was held up for 48 minutes while he was treated and Eagles top scorers Georgie Wood and Jake Knight recorded video messages wishing the rider a speedy recovery soon after the meeting finished.

Wood led Eagles with paid-17 from his six rides.

Both he and Knight had a bit of luck in heat 15 when leader Danny Ayres inexplicably lost control and fell, just 30 yards from what would have been a five-ride full maximum.

In the absence of home No.1 Adam Ellis, Ayres – the Kent rider guesting at the top of the Buxton order – was the fastest man on the circuit.

Wood, Knight and guests Dan Greenwood and Mark Baseby all suffered their only defeats at his hands.

Charley Powell had an exciting heat two win, passing Lee Geary, on his way to paid-nine.

Eagles: Wood 14+3 (6), Knight 12+1 (5), Baseby 10+1 (4), Greenwood 10 (4), Powell 8+1 (6), Harris 3+2 (5), Cottham r/r.

Buxton: Ayres 13 (5), Blacklock 9 (6), Geary 4+1 (7), Burton 4 (6), Mudgway 1 (2), Rutherford 1+1 (5), Jones r/r.
