Eastbourne are bringing in Polish prospect Dawid Lampart to complete their 2010 line-up.

The Eagles moved in for the under-21 international amid continuing uncertainty over the arrival of Denis Gizatullin.

Eagles were confident Gizatullin would complete work-permit processes in time to join the side on a bargain four-point average.

However, with little sign the Russian star was on his way, they have told 19-year-old Lampart he is starting the season in East Sussex.

Team manager Trevor Geer said: “Dawid might be here for the season.

“He will be an asset. Our captain Cameron Woodward has ridden with him in Poland and rates him.

“Denis says he will get everything in place but we can’t keep waiting and waiting.

“We will keep in touch and if he gets everything sorted we can still look at bringing him in at some stage, especially if we suffer an injury.”

Gizatullin’s low average means he could easily be brought into the line-up in place of any injured or out-of-form rider once the season has started.
