Eastbourne have been told their play-off fate is back in their own hands after a superb win with a depleted side at Birmingham last night.
But they might have to secure their top-four finish without Lukas Dryml after he crashed out at Perry Barr.
The Czech star definitely misses tomorrow’s meeting at Arlington against Swindon (4pm). He was rushed to hospital after his second ride last night after being sent flying down the track when left with nowhere to go after a crash just ahead of him involving Daniel Nermark, who was excluded from the re-run, and Bjarne Pedersen.
Eastbourne were unable to confirm initial reports that he suffered a broken femur.
Eagles’ five riders battled on to win 49-43 and were only denied a maximum haul of four Elite League points when Brummies grabbed a 5-1 in heat 15.
Joonas Kylmakorpi's five wins out of five and six points for reserve Timo Lahti helped put Eagles in high spirits ahead of the Robins' visit.
Co-promoter Mike Bellerby said: “The three points have put us right back on target. We want to get in the play-offs and it is now back in our own hands.
“Joonas won five out of five but I wouldn’t want to pick anyone out. Everyone was helping each other.”
