11:27am Friday 29th July 2011 in Eagles news By Brian Owen
Lukas Dryml is undergoing an operation on the broken thigh bone he suffered in a horrific crash at Birmingham last night.
The Eastbourne Eagles star is having the bone pinned today.
He is likely to remain in Sandwell General Hospital for several days.
Dryml was hurled off his bike and down the track after Daniel Nermark and Bjarne Pedersen collided in front of him.
Fears that he damaged his back proved to be unfounded.
Five-man Eagles still won the meeting 49-43 to re-ignite their play-off challenge.
Eagles will hold a collection among the crowd at tomorrow's meeting versus Swindon in aid of the popular Czech racer.
