Edward Kennett returns from his successful Grand Prix mission convinced he can help Eastbourne Eagles win away.

Eagles go to Ipswich tonight and Lakeside tomorrow to face two teams with good home records in the Elite League.

Kennett missed the home defeat to Poole on Monday while he safely negotiated the first of three rounds he will have to get through if he is to qualify for the GP series next year.

He said: "Ipswich are a strong side around their own track but we have been there already this season and I think we can do a good job.

"It's hard without getting many points at reserve but I'm sure we will be focussed. It's a well prepared track, a good shape and enjoyable place to ride."

Scott Nicholls gets an extra heat back at his old home circuit as Eagles operate rider-replacement for the injured Lee Richardson, whose damaged wrist will be checked by a specialist on Monday.

The Lakeside trip looks an even tougher proposition as Eagles face a side with arguably the best record in the league given their matches in hand and their balance of home and away fixtures so far.

Kennett, who guested at the Essex circuit for Ipswich recently, said: "It's a smaller track like Eastbourne, Lewis (Bridger) rode there recently in the British under-21s and I'm sure we can go there and do well. We need to keep winning away."

Ipswich: Louis r/r, Miskowiak, Kroner, Johnston, Hampel, Swiderski, Schramm.

Eagles: Nicholls, Bridger, Richardson r/r, Woodward, Kennett, Gustafsson, Simmonds.
