Now, where were we? Oh you mean you have actually missed this nonsense? Well I do apologise for the lack of blogging but having moved into a broadband-free property, I couldn't get online to get this through. But I am back, whether it be by popular demand, or just my whim, and the blogs continue.

Since our last get together, we have had a few ups, more downs but at least we are still a member of the Blue Square premier. With the expulsion of Chester, the league will be thrown into disarray, with points and goals all being expunged (what a brilliant word) For us at Boro, we lose just one point and we now escape the need to journey north on a Tuesday evening later this year. I expect we remain out of pocket from the abandoned game but that is surely small fry when compared to other matters. We may still be on the verge of a relegation battle but the adjustment of points could throw some unexpected names to the basement with us. Cambridge United will enter a fray they would have never expected at the season's start.

The on field performances have without a doubt affected the numbers of fans willing to make the away journeys. After all, who wants to travel miles to see yet another defeat. Of course it's not only the results that govern who goes where. Our geographical location makes virtually every away game a jaunt and a half, and of course economic demands influence many a fan. To this end, it has been a real pleasure to log on and join in with Steve Hollis's live blog from the away matches. Similar in style to the BBC live text commentary, it gives us absent fans a good minute by minute update on the game but also allows us to chat to Steve, ask him questions about how we are faring and of course gives Eastbourne Borough fans that find themselves out of the country a more personal and friendly link to the guys back home. It's a good fun way to spend 90 minutes, and congrats must go to The Argus for getting it in place, and also to Steve, who seems to manage to watch the game, give us updates and answer our daft queries.

So just what lies ahead for us at The Lane? Well with the form book going out the window at York where Boro ended City's season-long home unbeaten record, my cup still remains half full. It isn't going to be easy, but I for one still have the faith that come April we will remain members of the non-league elite.

We still have the Sussex Senior Cup to defend and a mouth watering tie away at Whitehawk awaits us. With three ex-Boro players on their books there is added spice to the tie.

High-flying Stevenage visit us on Tuesday night but after York, what have we to fear?
