Mum's costly coach trip to see daughter

Sandra Kyle, 64, had to fork out twice for a journey after volcanic ash caused her flight to be cancelled.

Mrs Kyle, who lives in Spain, managed to book the last seat on a coach to visit her daughter Lauren Francis of Halstead.

Mrs Kyle paid £230 for the one-way coach ticket after her Easyjet flight to Stansted was cancelled.

Her journey will take two days rather than two hours 51 minutes.

Miss Francis, 33, who is a financial advisor at Spicer McColl estate agents in Braintree, said: “It’s cost her a fortune.
