Over the last few days someone pertaining to being ex Albion hero and villain, Leon Knight, has posted and spoken about his time with club on internet forums and online radio shows.

Initially the poster wished to "put right" some of the things written or commented about him over the last few years.

And initially this was meet with some scepticism from the online community.

However in the last 48 hours it has become increasingly likely (though not definite) that it is in fact Leon Knight and for some reason four years since he left the Albion, he wants to put the record straight.

This likely Leon tells us how sad he was to leave the club and how much he regrets the comments he made upon leaving. On the Moan In Internet podcast, it is revealed that he didn't get on with a former Albion coach nor one of his team mates. In fact we are told the animosity between him and a former Albion Klinsmann lookalike was so strong they would only communicate to reprimand each other when the Albion conceded a goal. If true, it's an interesting insight to one of Albion's more successful periods. So why has young Leon chosen now to promote himself back into Albion favour?

Well, currently he does not have a club and is a free agent. Perhaps he is reflecting on the good times in his career. He was a proven goal scorer at Albion's current level. He is only 27. He is also familiar with the unusual surroundings of Withdean.

To have Leon Knight back at the Albion might be a victory for sentiment and nostalgia, but that is no longer what the Albion are built on.

If these communications have been made by Leon Knight then well done to him. He has put his side of his departure and been man enough to admit some of the things he said were wrong.

Personally, I always thought Leon Knight was a significant talent in his time at the Albion. He and Jake Robinson must have been the speediest yet sadly lightweight Albion front pairing of all time. In another era they could have been highly successful.

I hope Leon finds a new club soon and again proves what a superb goal poacher he can be. He scored 34 times in a 108 Albion appearances. Now that is a great ratio.

Sadly though I don't think he is Gus Poyet's elusive 30 goal a season front man.

However a return to scoring charts for Leon Knight? He just might!
