Oh, what a view!

It’s been another busy week, job searching and also having to rethink the plans to get Disney fit. It’s amazing how quick time passes by from one week to the next and the evenings have suddenly got darker a lot earlier, which makes the riding out a bit more hazardous. Some drivers don’t seem to understand that horses get spooked by their lights and charging past them at full speed. I’m sure they can only learn to obey the speed limits in the countrified area.

My beautiful day out with Canada

It’s been brought to my attention that you have all enjoyed my daily blogs from my journey to the John Smith’s Peoples Race so I thought I’d continue to write them to keep you all informed of my progress and what’s going on.

The worst feeling

I left for Aintree on the Friday morning at 3am. It was a long drive so a good early start was needed! Once again a huge thank-you to my employer Demelza Barnes for letting me have more time off work to compete in the race. Me and Melza were joking on the Thursday ride out about falling off at the start, but she was very helpful.

A day in the life of a Storrington jockey

I wake up every morning at 6am to be at Mr Richard Rowes’ yard for 6.45am to get everything ready for riding out, e.g. hot water and tack, and to organise my horse.
