The hype is nearly over, the waiting nearly at an end. Albion fans all around the country are currently giddy with excitement at the prospect of a good season ahead, and with currently up to eight new faces to see at Withdean on Saturday there will be a lot of matching faces to shirt numbers for the first 90 minutes at least -and it’s only Walsall we are playing, so we are bound to stuff them out of sight . . . or are we?

Supporting the Albion from Manchester is tough, at times ridiculously so. With the world’s best supported, and the world’s richest club within a short distance, what is it that drives the North West Seagulls thousands of miles a year to watch the Stripes?
