The exits of the seeds continued at Eastbourne today as Eugenie Bouchard pulled out during her third round match.
The Canadian seventh seed, runner-up at Wimbledon last year, was trailing 6-4, 3-0 against Switzerland's Belinda Bencic on centre court when she retired hurt with a stomach injury.
It means six of the top seven seeds have departed from the Aegon International via illness, injury or surprise defeats.
Bencic, who knocked out defending champion Madison Keys yesterday, now faces Eastbourne's Johanna Konta or Spanish 14th seed Garbine Muguruza in tomorrow's quarter-finals.
Second seed Caroline Wozniacki plays 2004 champion Svetlana Kuznetsova in the last 16 today and British No.1 Heather Watson meets American Sloane Stephens.
