Johanna Konta has become the first British woman to win three matches at Eastbourne for 32 years.
She continued her astonishing run in her home town tournament yesterday by knocking out Garbine Muguruza, the world No. 20 and 14th seed from Spain, in three sets.
Konta, ranked 146, is the first Brit to complete a hat-trick of main draw victories in the Aegon International since Jo Durie in 1983.
On Tuesday she ousted world No. 8 Ekaterina Makarova, the best win by a British player on home soil since Sam Smith beat Conchita Martinez at Wimbledon in 1998.
Konta's quarter-final opponent today is Switzerland's Belinda Benic, her victim in straight sets in the first round last year.
Konta said: "I remember that match. She has improved a lot. Since then she's made the quarter-finals of US Open, she's been 30 in the world or so, she's there for a reason.
"I'm going out there with a very level head to see what my best can produce on the day."
Benic, who beat defending champion Maidson Keys in round two, was 6-4, 3-0 up against Canadian seventh seed Eugenie Bouchard when last year's Wimbledon runner-up retired with an abdominal injury.
