Johanna Konta shrugged off illness to make it through to the quarter-finals at Eastbourne.
She called for a medical time out prior to the third set of her exit at Devonshire Park today against Swiss teenager Belinda Bencic.
Konta revealed to The Argus afterwards: "I have been on antibiotics this week. I have been ill. I have been slowly getting better, of course, but it's difficult to get better with energy levels when you play against such high-level players.
"It caught up a bit with me today. I'm not taking anything away from her."
Konta, wwho will find out her first round opponent for Wimbledon tomorrow, added: "I started antibiotics on Sunday. I'm almost done, thank God. Then I can get on to probiotics.
"I'm not the only one here that is not well or that's carrying something or has a niggle.
"I'm just happy with my management. I'm looking forward to a few days rest now and to recover and get my energies back and just looking forward to next week."
Russian lucky loser Daria Gavrilova, who wrecked Laura Robson's comeback from injury in qualifying on saturday, earlier withdrew from her quarter-final against American Sloane Stephens due to a stomach strain.
