“Peaceful” Mohammed Bourner is fighting for his life after being attacked in Bexhill.

Today (November 2) his parents Peter Bourner and Rahma Adan spoke of their heartbreak as the 15-year-old anti-knife campaigner, known as Mo, lay hooked up to life support machines in Hurstwood Park Neurological Centre in Haywards Heath.

Mr Bourner, who lives in Hooe near Bexhill, described the last time he spoke to Mo, just hours before he was punched.

“He gave me a big smile and the thumbs up,” he said.

“He is a shining light and this does not deserve to be extinguished.”

The day before he was attacked, Saturday, October 29, Mo helped his father on their farm.

Mo was with some friends when he was attacked between in De La Warr Parade between midnight and 12.45am on Sunday, October 30.

They were walking some girls home and then Mo planned to call his father to pick him up, as was usual when he went out in Bexhill.

His father said: “I was at home. I was expecting him to call."

Mr Bourner added: “It was an unprovoked and cowardly attack on a boy.”
