John Lambert is delighted to get the Hastings United manager's job at the second time of asking.
He succeeds Tony Dolby in the Pilot Field hot-seat after being appointed by chairman Dave Walters last night along with assistant Wayne Farrier.
Lambert, who ran the reserves last season, threw his hat in the ring for the job prior to Dolby's appointment in January but was never given a formal interview despite taking over as caretaker-boss for a couple of games.
Lambert said: "I am delighted to get the job. I was a bit miffed I didn't get an interview last time but Dave said that was because he knew what I could do.
"It is going to be a challenge but myself and Wayne Farrier have been there, seen it, done it and are right up for it."
