DJ Yoda: Magic Cinema Tour, Digital, Brighton, May 2

DJ Yoda's latest cutting edge audio-visual extravaganza is another fusion of classic movie clips and an eclectic playlist.

Following on from his At The Movies show, which explored the best and worst of the 1980s, and the production he developed for his debut album tour, Magic Cinema will include scenes from O Brother Where Art Thou?, Taxi Driver, High School Musical and, of course, Star Wars.

Yoda will be using the Pioneer SVM-1000 DVD mixing technology, which he has helped to develop. It has only been made available to a handful of DJs around the world and Yoda is promising to showcase some manouevres never before seen in the UK.

He says the the 90-minute show will be just as enjoyable to sit back and watch as to dance to.

The Hip-Hop Connection scribe, mixtape king and former DMC scratch champion is known for bringing a contagious sense of fun to an occasionally po-faced scene, famously playing the likes of Rick Astley next to the Wu-Tang Clan. He is now a regular judge for the world DMC championships.

  • Starts 8pm, tickets £10. Call 01273 227767. Admission price also entitles you to entry into the Stonelove club night when the show has finished.
