Arquiem, Brighton College, Fri May 16 – Sun May 18

11:10am Monday 14th April 2008

By Nione Meakin »

Pulsating music, haunting characters, pyrotechnics and acrobatics combine to tell the chilling tale of a boy who murders his love to preserve the memory of a moment.

Presented by Arquiem (also staging The Bell), Arquiem invites the audience to become an avenging crowd as a young man recants and cries for an innocence lost.

Inspired by Blake's Songs Of Innocence And Of Experience and Browning's poem Porphyria's Lover, it is part love story, part murder ballad and part cautionary tale.
