Jarvis Cocker On Song - Saying The Unsayable, Dome Concert Hall, Church Street, Brighton, Fri May 23

1:09pm Friday 23rd May 2008

A witty observer of the cultural scene, the former Pulp frontman will be celebrating the song lyric tonight.

From exploring the rhyme and reason for the lyric, to phrases to be avoided at all cost, he will even pose the question: "Do they matter at all?"

Armed with audio and visual clips, the man who once described his songs as "the edited highlights of my life", will be putting his own under the microscope alongside some of his favourites including Leonard Cohen and Amy Winehouse.

Since Pulp's hit album Different Class, featuring the classic Common People, Cocker's eclectic career has led from an infamous stage invasion during Michael Jackson's performance at the Brit Awards, to writing film music for Harry Potter and collaborating with the likes of Nancy Sinatra and Beth Ditto.
