St George’s Day, various locations, Brighton and Sussex, April 20

Although it is still not celebrated to the same extent as Ireland's St Patrick's Day - possibly because Guinness is not so closely involved - St George's Day is still a big day on the English calendar.
Scouts and Guides will be celebrating 100 years of Scouting in Brighton on April 20 with a St George's Day parade featuring invited districts across Sussex.
The parade will start at The Level at 10.15am, accompanied by bands from the 6th Hove Scout Group, the 1st Barcombe Scout Group and the Kingfisher Band of the Eastbourne District, with the parade finishing at the Dome Concert Hall, where a St George's Day service is being held.
Church Walk, in Burgess Hill, is hosting a day of St George's Day-themed activities tomorrow, including morris dancers, maypole dancing and face-painting from 10am to 2pm.
On St George's Day itself, George Street in Hove will be hosting a children's parade, which sets off from Hove Town Hall at 4pm. The parade will be led by a marching band and characters from the story of St George And The Dragon.
There will be stalls in George Street from noon and fun and games, including a chance for youngsters to slay a dragon, until 6pm.
