Performing Schubert's Symphony 8 in B Minor and Mahler's Das Lied Von Der Erde, the ever-popular London Phil return to Brighton.
In 1908, Mahler was experiencing profound professional and emotional difficulties, and turned to writing for voice and orchestra. The result was Das Lied Von Der Erde (The Song Of The Earth), the composer's great allegory of life and death.
Conducted by Christoph Eschenbach, the concert will feature mezzo-soprano Petra Lang and tenor Nikolai Schukoff.
