Frank Turner, Hanbury Club, Brighton, April 21

Former Million Dead frontman Frank Turner is continuing to embrace his acoustic-folk side with a tour promoting his second album Love Ire And Song. The album is the follow-up to Sleep Is For The Week, which was released last year and saw him headline a tour of former hardcore musicians gone acoustic, entitled the Softcore Tour.

The new album was written and recorded in a farm just outside Winchester, in Hampshire, with the assistance of previous producer Ben Lloyd, and focuses on universal themes including love, distance and loss. His Xtra Mile labelmate Chris T-T will reportedly joining him for the Brighton show. Support from Andy Yorke and Ciara H.

  • Starts 7pm, tickets £7. Call Rounder Records on 01273 325440 or Resident on 01273 606312.
